Daily Joy’s of The Autistic Child

Raising a child with challenges such as Autism, has taught me many life lessons.  Most of all, I have been given a GIFT.  My child has gone through the stages and phases from birth to age 20 years. The most important lesson I have learned along the way is everyday presents a new gift.  Yes, it took us a longtime to settle into a comfortable routine. Hopefully this blog will empower the other parent’s who are struggling! There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and many opportunities to find joy in your lives too.

Today’s Joy: I woke up to a freshly brewed cup of coffee to begin my day! My child woke up before me today, and made an entire pot of coffee. I was surprized with a delicious cup of coffee even before I got out of bed today! Many Mom’s only get this on a special Holiday, like Mother’s Day. I was thrilled that my child thought of me first, and wanted my day to begin with a thoughtful, caring act.
